What does it cost to work with a travel advisor?
For most trips, there is no separate planning fee.
For standard vacation planning, you do not pay me an additional advisor fee. Travel suppliers compensate me through commission after you travel.
That allows me to provide personalized research, booking guidance, deadline support, and a consistent point of contact without adding another planning bill to your trip.
If a request ever requires a separate professional fee, I’ll explain it clearly before you make any commitment.

Hi, I’m Mike O’Sullivan, the advisor behind Compass & Harbor Travel Co.
I’m a former Disney Cast Member, a dad, and someone who understands how valuable vacation time can be. I created Compass & Harbor for travelers who want thoughtful recommendations and personal guidance without carrying the entire research and planning process themselves.
My role isn’t to choose your vacation for you. It’s to understand what matters, compare the strongest options, explain the tradeoffs, and help you feel confident about the trip you choose.
As an independent travel advisor affiliated with Travelmation, I combine personal one-to-one service with the supplier relationships, training, resources, and support of a national travel agency.

Questions before you get started?
Do you charge a planning fee?
For most standard vacation planning, no. Travel suppliers compensate me through commission after you travel. If your request requires a separate professional fee, I’ll tell you before you commit.
Why book through you instead of booking directly?
You still choose the vacation. The difference is that you also have someone researching the options, helping you compare them, keeping track of details and deadlines, and serving as a point of contact throughout the process.
What kinds of trips do you plan?
I help with Disney and Universal vacations, ocean and river cruises, all-inclusive resorts, Sandals and Beaches, family travel, couples trips, milestone vacations, groups, and journeys around the world.
Can you help if I don’t know where I want to go?
Absolutely. Some of the best planning conversations start with how you want the trip to feel rather than a specific destination.
What happens after I submit an inquiry?
I’ll review your trip details and personally follow up within one business day. From there, we’ll clarify your priorities, discuss next steps, and begin narrowing the strongest options.
Will you still help after I book?
Yes. Booking is only one part of the process. I remain available as your trip develops and can help with relevant planning details, deadlines, questions, and support before departure.
